We are problem solvers.

An Admiral once told me that “no” was never a final answer unless he was the one who said it. I was a very junior Sailor then - and it blew my mind that he was practically admitting the easy answer is usually the one that actually halts all progress. That was one of those key moments that showed me there was always a way to get to yes.

Mountain Valor gets to “yes” by connecting veterans and their families with those who can help them. We do this while honoring our values of integrity, courage, grit and growth. This applies to our clients, volunteers and staff - and we take pride in what we stand for and how we meet our mission of serving the greater veteran community.

Our mission of education and outreach is growing. In the six months since our small team decided to tackle the lack of support for veterans here in Floyd County we have learned that our gaps in support are felt similarly throughout much of SW Virginia. We now have clients across five counties, forming new partnerships with local resources through all of them. We can’t instantly solve all the problems our veterans face, but we have found creative ways to help hungry and homeless veterans, as well as those with transportation issues, health care deficiencies, and death benefit hiccups.

We’re always looking for more volunteers and donations, but the thing we need most is for you to spread the word about us. The more veterans we can reach, the more families feel secure and supported in their time of need. We can’t do that alone.
